All of these leather are fine to use in the making of a mens suede jacket. To create the leather that become suede the hide is first cured and tanned and then split into several layers. The more layers it can be split into the thinner the leather becomes.

This thin leather is perfect for making mens suede jackets; however it is not as durable as the regular leather jacket because it is so thin. Also due to roughened and unsealed surface the suede is much more susceptible to damage from water and stains. On top of this suede must be professionally cleaned which can be somewhat expensive. The one thing that can make suede more durable is to make sure that is made from full grain leather instead of split hides.

Keeping it Casual

Today the formal look is on the way out and the casual look is very much on the way in. Suede makes a great mens casual jacket as it can look very classy while still being soft enough to be quite comfortable. Among the younger generation both faux and real suede jackets are becoming the latest in high fashion. Just as with any other type of leather jacket they are still worn for both style and protection from the elements as long as you have the suede properly treated to keep it waterproof. Of course with the synthetic suede waterproofing is generally not needed.

Mens suede jackets both real and faux area available in a wide variety of styles and colors to suit almost every personality. For the most part a mens suede jacket will cost significantly less than a top quality leather jacket, which may be one of the reasons why they are becoming so popular with the younger crowd beyond the fact that they look so good.
