Originally created out of shearling goatskin for the bomber pilots of World War Two, these are some of the warmest jackets you will ever see. The original version had a high zip up collar with the shearling lining and cuffs that fit snugly to keep the frigid air from high altitude flight from getting inside and freezing the air crew while on a bombing run.

Today you can still get a leather mens bomber jacket, but instead of goatskin and shearling on the inside you are more likely to get cowhide and fleece or synthetic wool. There are also denim and nylon mens bomber jackets that are significantly less expensive but can be just as warm.
