Just because your office has a casual dress code does not mean that you can head in to the office looking like a slob, in fact in most offices casual means that you do not have to show up every day in a suit and tie. What you may be required to wear is one of the many mens casual jackets that are available. Depending on just how casual the mens casual jacket you are looking at is you may or may not be able to wear it to work.

In the Office

For the corporate casual look, mens casual jackets tend to look a lot like a sports jacket or dressed down version of the suit jacket. With this type of jacket you can choose to wear it with a tie if you have a meeting to attend or go open collared for your day to day business. You can then match your mens casual jacket with a complementing pair of pants made from any of the fine man made fabrics of today or if your office rules allow it a good clean pair of jeans.

The office is not a place to wear loud colors, you will be much better off to stick with the more subdued colours of autumn such as browns and tans, even some of the not quite so bright yellows would be ok as long as the pants and shirt you choose complement the color and keep it all subdued. Blues are always a good choice as they can look both relaxed and professional at the same time. Just because the office dress code is corporate casual, it does not mean that you should not dress for success.

Looking Good After Hours

While it is very important that you look your best at the office, there is no reason why you should not carry this over to after you leave the office. You have several different choices if you want to go out for a night on the town or out for a nice meal and then dancing with the lady in your life. If you are exceptionally fashion conscious some of the top names in mens fashions such as Armani, DKNY and Ralph Lauren have all created a line of mens designer jackets that are guaranteed to make you look good no matter where you go.

Designed to be a lot more relaxed than the average mens suit jackets and usable for both the office and after hours at the club or when you are taking your date out for dinner, mens sports jackets look a little like a suit jacket. One of the big differences besides the less austere cut is the choice of materials used in this type of mens casual jacket. For many the only material to use for a sport jacket is camel hair that is actually harvested from Asian Bactrian camels. This material resembles wool but extremely soft and durable.

When looking at mens sports jackets try and avoid the navy blues and dark colors associated with mens suit jackets and stick to tans and browns that look and feel more relaxed. You can go with the traditional blues and grays, but if you want to stand out and look like a man of sophistication then brown or tan is the only color to go with.
